City of Delray Beach – Case Study

Building a Municipal Utilities Warehouse from Scratch with Our System

About the City of Delray Beach

Located in Palm Beach County, Florida, the City of Delray Beach serves residents with a variety of municipal services—including a dedicated Utilities Department. As part of their expansion, the city began building a new warehouse to better manage water and sewer fittings and related items.

The Challenge: Starting Inventory Management from Zero

As the lead responsible for setting up the city’s Utilities warehouse, Sixela C. Ricardo needed a robust solution:

  • From the Ground Up: No previous system in place, needed to set up inventory processes from scratch.
  • Efficiency with Detail: The system needed to be both intuitive and capable of detailed tracking.
  • User Permissions: Needed a view-only option for employees not authorized to modify data.
  • Emergency Support: The warehouse supports emergency response operations; speed and accuracy were essential.
"Starting a warehouse from scratch, I needed a system that could handle our inventory efficiently and in detail." – Sixela C. Ricardo, City of Delray Beach

Why the City Chose Our System

After a Google search and internal evaluation, the city chose our Asset Tracking Software for several key features:

  • Web-Based Access: Preferred by the city’s IT Department for accessibility and manageability.
  • Suite Subscription: Enabled tracking of both stock and assets with one integrated system.
  • Read-Only Visibility: Allowed users to view stock without the risk of altering data.
  • Training Resources: Wiki, videos, and guided sessions supported smooth onboarding.
